The deadly Niger Delta Avengers have claimed responsibility for blowing up a Chevron Oil well in Warri, Delta State despite the heavy presence of the Nigerian military.

In a tweet in the early hours of Wednesday, June 1, 2016, the militants celebrated the attack on the oil well saying despite the heavy security presence attacks on oil facilities has continued.

In one of the tweets, the militants wrote, "With the heavy presence of 100 Gunboats, 4 Warships and Jet Bombers NDA blew up Chevron Oil Well RMP 23 and RMP 24 3:44am this Morning.
