Suspected thieves apprehended and paraded in Kano state, get their hair shaved off

These suspected thieves were recently paraded before members of Bangan neighborhood in Kurnan Ungoggo Local Government Area of Kano State. Happy 36th birthday to me thank god for my life...

I turn a year older today September 19th and I can't tell you guys how grateful I am for the life I have. I may not have everything I want yet...but I have more than I thought was even possible and for that I am thankful. I am thankful for my family, friends, all LIB readers and well wishers.

My prayer as I turn 36 today is to find an amazing guy soon, settle down, have a bunch of kids and continue to live, impact my world and make a difference. Please say a prayer for me! I mean it! :-)

Nigeria rises to 64th in new Fifa ranking, now 14th in Africa

The Nigerian Super Eagles have risen to 64th in the new FIFA /Coca-Cola rankings published on FIFA's website today. 

Nigeria, coached by Gernot Rohr, is now the 14th best team in Africa behind Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Ghana, Congo DR, Egypt, Congo, Mali, Morocco, Cameroon, Guinea and South Africa.

Nigeria, before this latest ranking was 67th in the world. In the international scene Argentina is first while Belgium, Germany and Colombia occupy the second, third and fourth position respectively.

Repentant ex militants in Imo state surrender their weapons to Governor Rochas Okorocha, granted amnesty

Repentant ex-militants in Imo state were today granted amnesty by the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, a‎fter they surrendered their weapons to the state government and vowed never to return to their old ways. The governor received them at the Victory Chapel at the government house, prayed for them & advised them to shun violence, oil pipeline vandalism, cultism & other criminal activities.

Former Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson has appeared fully naked in scenes of a new movie 'Canadian offering' days after calling for pornography to be banned despite starring in her own sex tape with her ex-husband Tommy Lee.

Two Boko Haram terrorists arrested in Maiduguri by CJTF confess to killing 35 people during the capture of Bama(see photos)

Two Boko Haram members were captured by CJTF in Maiduguri. The suspects confessed to having killed 35 people during the capture of Bama in 2014.

The Islamist terror group seized Bama, the largest town in Borno State, after a fierce battle with the Nigerian Army. The Army initially repelled the attack but the group returned with reinforcements to seize the town. They travelled in armoured trucks and first took control of the military barracks.
Soldiers and residents reportedly fled on foot, many of them walking all the way to Maiduguri, the state capital.

The overall Forum Assistant Secretary of CJTF, Muazu Alhaji Misiya posted the photos today, September 11 and wrote: 

"Boko haram are dangerous see this two boko haram from nguro Soye under bama local government we arrest them in inside Maiduguri. When they capturing Bama they kill 35 people. Small one he kill 32 and big one he kill 3 people. Even in maiduguri we have to put eyes pls"

senate president reiterates commitment good governance...

Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki on Sunday in Ilorin, reiterated his commitment to the improvement of lives of Nigerians through quality legislation. 

Dr Saraki gave the commitment in Ilorin at a town hall meeting with members of his Kwara Central Senatorial district. 

My business in government is to improve the lives of the people, it is a duty and I pledge that I will not stop until this is achieved,” he added. 

The Senate President described his election as the number three citizen in the country as the glory of all the people of Kwara. 

According to Saraki, whether anybody likes it or not, it is now the turn of Kwara to occupy the seat of Senate president. 

He noted that the South East zone had enjoyed the slot for eight years, the same with Benue State which also had eight years and now, “its the turn of Kwara to enjoy the slot”. 

Saraki addressed the people amid tight armed security made up of policemen and other uniform services. 

Bukola Saraki He told the gathering that his eight years as governor of Kwara, he never had a chance to influence employment of indigenes in any federal establsihment, but that within one year in office as the Senate President, he had influenced the employment of many youths into federal agencies. 

Sen Saraki pointed out  projects like the Baruten/Kaiama road, Ilorin/Omu-Aran road, Ajase-Ipo/Offa/Osun State border and Bode Saadu/Jebba captured in the Federal Budget, a feat that was never recorded in the past and promised their implementation. 

He said he has also used his influence as the Senate President to get the approval of the construction of 2, 000 classrooms by Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). 

According to him, as part of effort to ameliorate the suffering of teachers in the state and the country at large, the Senate was working to push teachers’ salaries into capital expenditure of the federal government. 

This is why I said that this is our time to enjoy the office of the Senate President, you all pray for me to be able to do more for the state and its people,” Saraki said...

Unidentified baby boy found on the streets of GRA, Ikeja

A male child was found on the streets of Harrold Shodipo, GRA, Ikeja at about 10am on September 4th by a kind‎- hearted citizen, who after looking around for the child's mother, handed him over to the police.  According to the sender who sent in photos of the child, efforts to find her so far has proved abortive.

Presently, the child, who is about 10 months old based on his developmental milestone calculations. is at Police College Hospital, Ikeja. Anyone familiar with this child's family should kindly make efforts to contact the police with adequate proof. Another photo after the cut.

Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal releases N12m to buy cows for orphans

Sokoto state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has released the sum of over N12million to buy cows for orphans in the state. 

The said amount which was released through Zakkat and endowment Committee is meant to buy cows on Sallah day across the 85 District Heads of the state.

The break down shows that each district head will collect one hundred and thirty thousand naira to buy bull and distribute it to at least forty orphans across the 85 District heads.

Meanwhile, Governor Tambuwal presented twenty five thousand naira to each District head to buy ram on sallah day. 

The occasion was held at sultan Palace Sokoto.
