“Let me state that the seaports in Nigeria provide one of the major platforms for trade facilitation with about 90 per cent of our imports and exports being done through the seaports.’’ The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms Hadiza Usman, said the authority would undertake detailed security assessment of port facilities.

“On issues relating to maritime security, responsibility is placed on the ports authority to undertake detailed security assessment of port facilities and identify threats in order to checkmate them. “Furthermore, it would enable us to surmount security and safety challenges within our operations with the capability of an interface with stakeholders aiding us to track and record maritime security breaches.

“In addition, this technology enables the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to ensure that all revenue leakages are blocke

“In furtherance of the Federal Government’s efforts toward revitalising our economy. “Let me reiterate that in the days ahead, the Nigerian Ports Authority will be playing pro-active roles in the digital space. “Ensuring that there is synergy and collaboration among relevant agencies like the Nigerian Navy, the Nigeria Customs Service, NIMASA, and all other security and intelligent agencies.

Ignore allegations of corruption against my ministers- President Buhari tells Nigerians

President Buhari has appealed to Nigerians to ignore orchestrated attempts to ruin the integrity of ministers and other senior government officials, who are being tarred with the brush of corruption without any concrete evidence.

Reacting to reports, particularly by online media, that the immediate past Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), who is also Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, is being investigated over crude oil swap deals and gas liftings during his tenure as GMD of the petroleum corporation, President Buhari appealed for decent and civilized comments,

particularly when it has to do with the integrity of those who are serving the country.
"Terrible and unfounded comments about other people's integrity are not good. We are not going to spare anybody who soils his hands, but people should please wait till such individuals are indicted," the President said.
President Buhari reiterated the administration's commitment to probity, accountability and integrity, promising that transparency remains a watchword, which would never be trifled with.

wow 20-year-old woman gives birth to three sets of twins in 26 months & uses no fertility drugs(see photo)

A 20 year old woman named Danish Couch from Kansas has given birth to three sets of twins in a little over two years, with the latest born last month.

"People just consider me a freak of nature when I tell them," said the 20-year-old mom, who apparently has a condition in which she releases more than one egg per month.

Couch delivered two boys 26 months ago but one of them died from complications of premature birth. Fourteen months later, twin girls Delilah and Davina, were born. The third set, Dalanie and Darla, both girls, were born last month. They came home after three weeks in neonatal intensive care.

"So you have two eggs simutaneously coming down the tubes getting ready to be fertilised," Dr. Elizabeth Wickstorm of Shawnee Mission Medical Centre told WDAF.

The twins are all fraternal, meaning that they are from two separate eggs being fertilised, not from an egg splitting. Couch is engaged to the father of the second and third set of twins, Jeffrey Presler and are planning to get married on September. Presler is an aquarium technician and also works at Gas-mart.

"I love babies, but maybe in 10 to 15 years, when these ones are big enough to help," she told Inside Edition. The young family have been denied benefits.

"I have tried to sign up for benefits and got denied...I try best I can as a mother but sometimes I need help and honestly I am not too proud to ask," said Couch.

Over 6000 soldiers arrested and stripped half naked after failed coup in Turkey, might face death penalty(see photo)

As many as 27 top Military men accused of masterminding the failed Military coup attempt against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government will appear in court on Monday. Over 6000 soldiers have been arrested and stripped almost naked as President Erdogan refused to rule out the death sentence for those involved in the ill-fated takeover attempt on Friday.

The army personnel look to have been stripped of their uniform as they lay on the floor on an indoor basketball court in Sirnak, east Turkey, handcuffed as officials loyal to the Government look over them.
Only the 27 top military officials will see lawyers, the other 6000 arrested soldiers will not be able to see or meet lawyers until they arrive in court.
Hundreds of judiciary members have been removed since Friday's uprising, which left at least 290 people dead and more than 1,400 injured in a chaotic night of violence.

On Sunday, speaking at a funeral on Sundayheld for some of those killed during gunfire -- including the brother of his chief adviser, Mustafa Varank -- Erdogan said he did not rule out bringing back the death penalty for the coup's perpetrators.
As the crowd chanted "we want the death penalty," he said, "we can't ignore the people's request in a democracy -- this is your right."
"This right has to be evaluated by the appropriate authorities according to the constitution and a decision can be made," Erdogan said in the address broadcast live on TV.

"It is not anything ordinary that my young brothers lay under tank pellets; this is a manifest of faith," Erdogan said.
He also asked supporters to stay on guard.
"You should fill the squares. This isn't a 12-hour operation. We will continue determinedly."

dangote-seeks-aid-combat-hunger-idps-camps.

By Victor Ahiuma-Young

Worried by the reported unhealthy conditions of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in various camps across the country, President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to rise up to the occasion and assist government in ameliorating the situation in IDPs camps. Malnourished children at Bama IDP camp,

Borno According to Dangote, this is the time wealthy Nigerians should stand up and be counted as thousands of fellow citizens are languishing in the camps due to insufficient facilities and food items.

The business mogul, who recently donated N2 billion and millions of Naira worth of food items on behalf of the Dangote Foundation to the IDPs when he visited some of the camps in Maiduguri in Borno State urged Nigerians to have empathy for those in the camps. Speaking during a visit by North East Development Coalition, Chairman of the Dangote Foundation said he was saddened by the reports of deaths and malnutrition in the camps,

noting: “We cannot open our eyes and allow our fellow citizens continue to suffer like this for no fault of theirs. We need to partner with government and help those in the camps.

“It is obvious government alone cannot cater for this people, not even at this time when there is a paucity of fund. These people need our help and with what God has provided for us we need to help them”, he stated, while describing the situation in the entire North East as requiring huge humanitarian assistance.

Within a spate of five years, the total amount donated to various camps of IDPs, across the country by the Dangote Foundation has grown significantly to N6.3 billion. N364 million was donated to IDPs in Kaduna, Bauchi and Gombe states after the post-election violence in 2011 rendered many homeless while in another breath the sum of N100 million and N60 million were respectively donated to victims of flood disaster in Lagos and Oyo State in 2011.

Dangote Foundation donated N2.5 billion in 2012 to IDPs affected by the flood disaster across 22 states of the federation and N39.34 million to those IDPs displaced by the communal clash in Benue state in 2014. While N42.5 million was used in feeding 5000 IDP households across Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states last year, N100 million and N50 million were respectively contributed to the Appeal fund raised by Daily Trust newspapers to cater for the IDPs in the Northeast and to support the Adamawa Peace Initiative all for the IDPs. The sum of N1 billion was also recently pledged to Victim Support Fund for IDPs across the Northeast.

Dangote promised the Coalition that he would do everything within his power to assist the IDPs and improve their suffering. He also made a commitment to end malnutrition and hunger in the camps and other parts of the country. He said: “The first major challenge is the physiological needs of these people, and food, nutrition rank right on top of that ladder. So we will first make serious effort to ensure that hunger is eliminated from the IDP camps and thereafter, we will begin to make effort to create jobs and boost entrepreneurship.

“The effort to create jobs and boost enterprise in this case will not be about making money or returning investment, rather it will be primarily to create opportunities for the people,” he said.

Also speaking during the visit, the Executive Director of Dangote Group, Halima Aliko-Dangote, assured them that Dangote foundation will live up to its promise of supporting them and meeting them at their point of need, praying that their travails will soon be over.

She stressed that her father, apart from the direct support he would be giving to the people, would also pull his partners and contacts in the private sector to collaborate and support the people of the state.

Germany 0-2 France: 5 star Antoine Griezmann fires France into Euro 2016 final against Portugal

France have booked a spot in the final of Euro 2016 after defeating Germany 2-0 on Thursday night. The host nation in a show of tactical masterclass scored a late goal in the first half through Antoinne Griezmann and scored in the second half through the same player- Griezmann.

The match started with Germany dominating possession forcing all French players to withdraw within their half while Draxler, Ozil and Muller tried to open up spaces in the French defence.

N'Golo Kante starred for France during the group stages but the Leicester City midfielder was left out of the starting XI to face the Germans as Didier Deschamps opted for a 4-2-3-1 system.

Newcastle's Moussa Sissoko got the nod out wide to provide balance, with Antoine Griezmann occupying a more central role.
Germany started without star defender Mats Hummels due to suspension and it showed when some late pressure with a minute to go before halftime, Bastian Schweinsteiger handled the ball in the penalty box, with the referee left with no choice than to award a penalty to the home nation after consulting with the linesman.
Germany at the start of the second half were shocked as France started the second half with more determination and hunger to score more goals and scored another one through Antonie Griezmann after wonderful dribbling and interplay from Paul Pogba.

Germany tried to muster courage and score but were left by a tactically courageous France coach Didier Deschamps who played with Paul Pogba, Sissoko, Kante and Matuidi towards the end of the match.

France are now through to the final and will play Portugal in the final in Paris on Sunday.
